Dr. Katz is originally from Connecticut though she attended veterinary school at The Ohio State University. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in June of 2000. For several years, she has wanted to give her patients as many options as possible for treatment, especially patients that are in pain. She attended the IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society) Course on Basic Acupuncture in 2007 and obtained her final certification in October, 2008. Dr. Katz is certain that acupuncture has great potential to help her patients (and clients) by giving them another option for treatment (in addition to Western medications). Dr. Katz also has some experience with herbal therapies and is studying to become a Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist through the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies (www.civtedu.org).
Dr. Katz enjoys her career as a veterinarian and treats every pet with kindness and each client with respect and understanding.
Dr. Katz is currently a member of the following veterinary organizations:
IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Society) AAVA (American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture) AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) CVMA (Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association)
